» FLATE will develop
training, courses, and curriculum to assure the availability
of motivated and highly proficient technical support workers
for the region's emerging Bioengineering and Life Sciences manufacturing
sector. Best practices for High Performance in modern Medical
Manufacturing will be determined and promulgated. Sponsored

» FLATE will study the region's
high tech manufacturing jobs to identify required skills, abilities,
and work activities using O*NET, the Occupational Information
Network. The Center will use this recently developed database
of occupational requirements to facilitate accurate assessments
of these jobs. Identification of these important occupational
characteristics will guide the development of technical curricula
to create effective transitions into the manufacturing workforce.

» TERR / Xpress: Technical
Education Resource Repository
This project will develop a Technical Education Resource Repository
for Florida Community Colleges Manufacturing and Related Technology
curriculum, courses, and laboratories and individualized learning
activities using the Florida High Tech Corridor Council’s
(FHTCC) High Tech Xpress (HTX) model prototype developed with
the U.S. Army Program Executive Office of Simulation, Training,
and Instrumentation (PEO STRI). A six month feasibility study
will begin in Summer 2003.
