» FLATE will develop training, courses, and curriculum to assure the availability of motivated and highly proficient technical support workers for the region's emerging Bioengineering and Life Sciences manufacturing sector. Best practices for High Performance in modern Medical Manufacturing will be determined and promulgated. Sponsored by: USF Center of Excellence for Bioengineering and Life Sciences

» FLATE will study the region's high tech manufacturing jobs to identify required skills, abilities, and work activities using O*NET, the Occupational Information Network. The Center will use this recently developed database of occupational requirements to facilitate accurate assessments of these jobs. Identification of these important occupational characteristics will guide the development of technical curricula to create effective transitions into the manufacturing workforce. Sponsored by: The U.S. Department of Labor.
