Goal 1. Create an administrative region for FLATE that will have state-wide recognition as an educational resource for manufacturing and related curriculum, content, and activities.

Goal 2. Create, for statewide implementation, an education delivery system that contains curriculum,content, and technical programs to support high performance manufacturing within the region.

Goal 3. Adapt, and/or create needed regional related manufacturing curriculum, content, activities and/or services that cannot be adopted from existing NSF, NSF-ATE and other appropriate sources.

Goal 4. Create a viable Manufacturing Education Awareness System (MEAS) that promotes manufacturing careers, honors outstanding manufacturing education champions and educators and that fosters industry supported academic scholarships in manufacturing education.

Goal 5. Create and implement a faculty development program that updates faculty, industry, technical, and skills related information as they relate to best practices for modern high performance manufacturing in the region.

Goal 6. Create an exciting regional manufacturing and technology educational environment that encourages and facilitates under-represented student participation in partner educational programs and activities.

   
  Specific Goals 2008 - 2011
Goal 1.

To identify and secure funds to partially sustain FLATE.

 

Goa l2.

To implement a statewide unified education system for manufacturing that positions manufacturing education as a convergent curriculum that optimizes technician preparation in manufacturing and its enabling technologies.

 

Goal 3.

To provide an effective outreach platform for Florida's high school, community college, industry, and legislature to access information related to the requirements for, and impact of manufacturing education.

 

Goal 4.

To present professional development opportunities for technical faculty to develop, refine or certify their knowledge base within manufacturing and/or its related enabling technologies and educational pedagogies.
