The Florida for Engineering Technology was envisioned in the summer of 1996 at a meeting at a UCF of statewide technology leaders. Brad Jenkins, Director of Engineering Technology at St. Petersburg Collgee, is the permanent chair person and a co-chairperson from each host college shares the responsibilities of organizing the semiannual meetings. The first Forum was held at Seminole CC in 1997. In 2005, the ET Forum partnered with FL-ATE to bring an industry component to historically academic group.
